As we face into another Monday morning, take solace in the fact that the week ahead is a very busy one in terms of on the field action for the Sarsfields club, with not just one, but three finals up for decision across all grades!
First up on Wednesday evening, our senior men contest the 2018 Leo Kenny Cup Final v Padraig Pearses of Roscommon. This competition is one in which we have a good overall record, having won it in 2016 defeating Mountbellew/Moylough in the decider that year. Padraig Pearses however will provide a stern test having overcome the challenges of Tuam Stars, Castlerea St Kevins, and Kiltane on route to this years final. The COE in Bekan plays the part of host on Wednesday evening, with a throw in time of 8pm, so please be sure and get up to support the lads!
Friday evening then sees our very promising minor team contest the East Mayo Minor ‘A’ final against near neighbours Ballaghadereen. The venue is yet to be decided (more than likely Aghamore, will be confirmed later today) with a throw in time of 7:30. This group of players are always pleasing on the eye, and theres never a dull moment, so please ensure they have a huge support in what is a local derby! The “East Mayo El Classico” as it is commonly termed of late. 🙂
A quick turn around for our senior lads sees them contest their second final in 5 days when they travel to Gilmartin Park, Kiltimagh to face off against Garrymore in the 2018 Michael Walsh Senior League Final. Throw in time of 12:00, in what will I’m sure be a keenly contested encounter.
