Charlestown Sarsfields G.A.A. Club are holding their annual dinner dance in the Park Hotel, Kiltimagh on Saturday February 8th with proceedings getting underway @730pm.

Tickets for the event are priced @€30 and the club are hopeful of a good turnout as they reflect on a busy and hectic year on and off the field which brought plenty of success and enjoyment at the many different age grades.

This is a night one always looks forward to in the club calendar and has traditionally  been very well supported and attended  with the Park Hotel always putting on a good show. There will be a number of awards given out on the night such as Players of the Year in both the men’s and ladies codes with the Jim Breheny Memorial Shield for the Club Person of the Year also being awarded to what is always a most deserving winner.

Guest of Honour on the night will be Kerry Legend Eoin Brosnan from the Dr. Crokes club in Killarney. Eoin won  three Celtic Crosses,  seven Munster Titles along with two national leagues during his decade plus stint with the  Kerry seniors. He has also nine county titles to his name together  with seven Munster Club titles with an All-Ireland Club in 2017 also thrown in for good measure which is some haul of metal which I`m sure he`ll only  be too glad to wax lyrical  about when he dons the tuxedo and takes his place as at the top table for  the Sarsfields gala night.

We look forward to hearing what he has to say as it isn’t often we have such a feted player in our midst so we are sure to be hanging on his every word!!. Hats off to Assistant P.R.O. Ronan Kenny who organised this coup as Ronan “exploited” and I use that word carefully his friendship with Eoin which was first cultivated on foreign soil as these two eminent gentlemen struck up a conversation while holidaying in the Algarve above all places.They maintained the contact ever since so Ronan, like the shrewd negotiator he most definitely has cajoled him into coming to our dinner dance which is sure to be a real crowd puller as we will grill him like he`s never been interrogated before.

The countdown to the event is well and truly underway with tickets available from all members of the executive as the members get an opportunity to dress up and celebrate amongst  their own with the atmosphere always convivial and   one of fun and enjoyment.
