The weekend gone by, was one of winning, losing, and drawing for our club players, and indeed the fact that our players are still involved in competitive competition in mid November is testament in itself to all involved.
On Saturday evening, Aidan and Ginger played pivotal roles in what was an enthralling All Ireland Masters Final, so much so, that Mayo and Cavan will have to do it all over again as even extra time failed to separate the two sides. Our club supporters travelled in great numbers to support the 2 lads, great to see it! Details of the replay are yet to be confirmed but please support again!
Sunday was a day of mixed fortunes for our club teams, as our u15’s contested the League Final against a strong and much fancied Belmullet side and our u21’s played host to Naomh Padraig in the county quarter final.
Sadly the u15’s, despite putting up a brave fight, came up short on the day, but they lost nothing in defeat and brought the curtain down on what was a hugely progressive year for this group. For many of the team, it was the 3rd Final they contested this year, and only bigger and better days lie ahead for this group. Watch this space!
The u21’s did however get over the line and in the process booked themselves a semi final spot, we will keep you all posted on the when and where for this one. Despite not quite reaching the high levels of performance they had in earlier rounds, they did enough to see off a brave Naomh Padraig challenge by a solitary point. These lads are also on the verge of achieving something special as a group, lets hope they go all the way! #honthetown #coybigaw
