It is with great sadness & regret, that we today learned of the untimely passing of Eastern Gaels clubman, Mr Ciaran Byrne.

Ciaran, who has been serving as chairman of the East Mayo Board in recent years has been a lifelong servant to the GAA & will be very sadly missed by everyone in Mayo GAA circles & indeed beyond.

He was also a great friend to us here in Charlestown, and his untimely passing will leave a huge void in local GAA.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, colleagues, and all within the Eastern Gaels club.

His loss to Connacht and Mayo is huge.
