Charlestown Sarsfields celebrates its 130th anniversary this Monday the 4th of June. The day starts at 11:30am with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque on Church Street to mark the first meeting of the club in what is now Vincent Doherty’s. The festivities then move to the park where there is a number of games beginning at 12pm with our U8 boys and girls taking on Curry. There will be further games against Curry GAA including the ladies and Seniors. There are bouncy castles, ice cream van and a BBQ all free of charge, thanks to the generosity of the local business community. People will be able make a donation at the gate if they wish, all proceeds of which will be going to local charities. We would also like to thank Curry GAA for their support in providing so many teams on the day.
We look forward to seeing you all on Monday and remember to wear sunscreen as it promises to be a great day…
