The U14 ladies travelled to Belmullet yesterday for the final group A Div 3 match having secured victories against McHale Rovers and Moy Davitts. We decided to make a day out of it and enjoyed an outdoor meal followed by a trip to a beach before reaching Belmullet GAA grounds.
It was a tough game with Belmullet in front after the first water break with the aid of the wind. Charlestown found their form and were moving in the right direction when minutes from the end an unfortunate collision of two players resulted in a Belmullet player sustaining an injury requiring medical attention. As a result of the delay, the teams agreed to a draw.
This places Charlestown at the top of the group and expect to play in the Cup Semi Final next Wednesday (possibly at home vs Burrishoole).
